SACRED HISTORY for August 15th
1976 Adi Da Samraj Gathers in Western Face Cathedral (now Temple Adi Da) and Introduces, for the first time to the full gathering of His devotees, His “Consideration” of Divine Ignorance. Raising up a crystal ashtray, His Divine Presence Parama-Sapta-Na Adi Da Says:
“It is spatially distinct from My hands. I have the feeling that I ‘know’ it, that I am secure around it. And I could say some things about its use, I could say some things about the elements that went into it, I could go on and on, forever. But, after all of that is said and done, I still do not ‘know’ What it Is. What any of this Is, hm? Any of it. What is a thought? What Is it? You ‘know’? What is anything whatsoever, the whole of it? You do not ‘know’ What any of it Is. You do not ‘know’ What a single thing Is. What it Is. All this incredible philosophizing, this entire life of seeking, this classy little life you live—you still do not ‘know’ What a single thing Is!” ~The Mountain Of Attention Sanctuary
In this discourse excerpt from an October 10, 2004, Adi Da Samraj explains how all the beings and things that we tend to presume have an independent existence are in fact only apparitions arising in a single, universal Consciousness and are modifications of a single, underlying Divine Reality. Avatar Adi Da notes that even our thinking process is a part of this apparition. He says that even thoughts themselves are only an activity arising in Consciousness, and, if we were to truly examine this activity, we would notice that we are NOT generating the thinking process.
