1979   Adi Da Samraj Gathers with devotees and “Considers” the ego-transcending presumption that necessarily characterizes His true devotee.

His Divine Presence Parama-Sapta-Na Adi Da Says:

“The presumption of the devotee is that you are Lived by One Reality, Power, Being. You are each Identical to That One Living Being. To confess that one is Lived, that one is constantly Transcended by That Which is one’s very life, being, condition, is an obligation toward ecstasy and ‘self’‑surrendered Inherence in the Living One. It is also an obligation to the moral sacrifice of ego‑transcending love within the arising ‘play’ of relations and ‘experiences’.”

Adi Da goes on to Say:

“Life is not a game of independent and opposing egos. Life is a ‘play’ of the One, a ‘playful’ expression of One. If you recognize all arising beings, moments, and patterns as the Living One, if you Inhere in the Living One in every moment, then you transcend the binding power of mere ‘experience’, mere ‘knowledge’. It is an ecstatic disposition, ecstatic by virtue of your psycho-physical Inherence in the Living One, and moment to moment service to all arising phenomena as the Living One.

Your moment to moment recognition, in every instant of the pattern of relations, as only the Living One, only a modification of That One, only That One, merely, simply—this Remembrance is ecstatic, this Inherence is Blissful.”  ~The Mountain Of Attention Sanctuary

1984   Adi Da Samraj Gathers with devotees and Discusses a portion of His Dawn Horse Testament, wherein He Reveals the fundamental principle that “you become what you meditate on”.

His Divine Presence Parama-Sapta-Na Adi Da Says:

“Wherever your attention goes, you take on the qualities of that ‘object’. This is always so. In some contexts, you could say, this grants you powers of some kind over conditions, but in the ordinary case it gives things power over you. You take on their qualities, and their qualities then contain and define and limit you. They become your circumstance. That is karma. That is conventional reality.”

Adi Da then Says:

“You must Find Me in the context of all of these ‘objects’, all of these movements of attention. You must make all of these moments of attention, circumstances of attention, into devotional Communion with Me. Then the ‘objects’ no longer bind you. You only are discovering the Divine Qualities. You are only Finding Me, meditating on Me, in every kind of ordinary context. This is the secret, then, of all of the forms of practice I Give you.

All of the forms of practice are a means for transforming the incident of attention, so that no matter what you are involved in—a moment of meditation, or ordinary living—no matter what the circumstance of attention, you are always involved in devotional Communion with Me, always transcending egoity and transcending the limiting power of ‘objects’. Always. This is the art of practice. This is the essence and secret of practice in the only-by-Me Revealed and Given Reality-Way of Adidam.”  ~Adi Da Samrajashram
