1990 Adi Da Samraj Gives Verbal Instruction to all devotees on the devotional relationship to Him, portions of which are later published in “The Hymn Of The True Heart-Master.”

His Divine Presence, Parama-Sapta-Na Adi Da, Says:

“The Reality-Way of Adidam is a relationship, not a ‘technique’.

Therefore, the relationship to Me is the basic Principle on which all practices in the Reality-Way of Adidam are based. The fundamentals of the Reality-Way of Adidam are devotion to Me, service to Me, and ‘self’-discipline in devotional recognition-response to Me.

The Reality-Way of Adidam must be founded and established on devotion to Me and ego-surrendering, ego-forgetting, and ego-transcending turning to Me. And service to Me and ‘self’-discipline in devotional recognition-response to Me are to be founded on and motivated by this devotion to Me and on the maturing ‘self’-understanding that is awakened by devotion to Me.”

Adi Da goes on to Say:

“Service to Me and ‘self’-discipline in devotional recognition-response to Me are My Gifts to practitioners of the Reality-Way of Adidam. They are not ‘techniques’ to be ‘self’-applied in the manner of strategic ‘self’-effort. They are practices to be received as Gifts from Me, and they are to be practiced in devotional recognition-response to Me, with a feeling of obligation to Me based on true love of Me and maturing ‘self’-understanding that is realized through listening to My Reality-Word and receiving all My Gifts.

Because service to Me and ‘self’-discipline in devotional recognition-response to Me are Gifts to be received from Me rather than ‘techniques’ to be strategically ‘self’-applied, their significance is fundamental to your relationship to Me. They are to be practiced as forms of responsive obedience, or sympathetic conformity, to Me, rather than as ego-instigated disciplines. Likewise, meditation and even all the cultural practices of the Reality-Way of Adidam are Gifts from Me to those who practice and demonstrate devotion to Me.” ~Adi Da Samrajashram
