SACRED HISTORY for August 13th
1982 Adi Da Samraj passes on His Poems (later published as “Crazy Da Must Sing, Inclined to His Weaker Side”) and Recites them before His devotees. ~ Da Love-Ananda Mahal
1987 Adi Da Samraj Gathers with devotees and “Considers” right life in the context of this “world” of conditionality and death.
His Divine Presence Parama-Sapta-Na Adi Da Says:
“Ideally, it seems, it would be best if men and women did not ever have to take the life of anything, but this cannot be done. Even your next breath will slaughter beings. And you, yourself, bodily, will be given up eventually. The entire cosmic display is a kind of slaughterhouse, if you will, killing everything birthed. Observing this, one can be possessed by a desperate and negative vision.
That is why one must Hear the Truth and Wake up. One must understand that, indeed, the conditional universe must be transcended, but, as a process, its greater meaning is positive. It is a process of ‘self’-sacrifice, of yielding, of going beyond, as best one can.
Adi Da then Says:
“Since death as it appears in this circumstance is not avoidable—you cannot avoid it, other human beings cannot avoid it—it is useful to get some reality-based awareness of it, an ‘experience’ of it that humanizes you and serves the Great Process of the ego‑transcending Reality-Way of Adidam. You should enter that awareness seriously. You should investigate it. You should equip yourself with right understanding of conditional reality, and not avoid such understanding, not idealize life beyond a point. You must understand life as it is—and, therefore, death and disease and suffering.
My devotees, practicing the Reality-Way of Adidam in cooperative association with one another, have the opportunity to not only find out about conditional reality but to control events, associate with those things that may (in the common ‘world’) be treated rather vulgarly and without humanity. So they should serve the sick, the dying, the dead, the old, from the perspective of the Reality-Way of Adidam—truly, humanly, and, in due course, Transcendentally Spiritually.” ~Adi Da Samrajashram
