SACRED HISTORY for August 31st

1982  Adi Da Samraj Gathers with devotees and “Considers” the presumption of “problem” and “cure”. In the passage appearing in Sutra 5 of The Dawn Horse Testament,

His Divine Presence Parama-Sapta-Na Adi Da Says:

“Whatever You Look At, whatever You Turn Your attention To, You Tend To Take On that form, To Be Qualified By that form. This Is A Law Of the psyche, A Law Of conditionally Manifested individuality—As Absolute As The Laws Of Cosmic Nature. Therefore, From The Most Ancient Days, Adepts and Saints and Devotees Have Recommended That, Since You Become what You Meditate On, You Should Meditate On That Which Is Absolute, That Which Is Happiness, That Which Is Truth Itself, That Which Is The Divine Self-Nature, Self-Condition, Source-Condition, and Self-State Of the individual ‘self’, all its relations, and Even All Of Cosmic Nature. Thus, The Ancient Traditional Recommendation Is To Meditate On That, Give Yourself Up To That, Presume That, Enter Into The Disposition Of Faith (or Inherence In That), and Allow The Presumption Of That To Magnify Itself To The Point That You Become Perfectly Identified With It.

However, That Same Proposition Has Been Made Part Of A Culture Of Seeking-For-‘Cure’. People Imagine That they Can Take Up Spiritual Life In A Mechanical Manner—Merely By thinking Of A Divine Name or mentally Constructing some sort of belief In The Divine, Without Yet Truly, Fully, and Absolutely Intuiting and Accepting The Prior Existence and Force Of The Divine. Thus, people Seek To Realize What Is Great By Means Of small-scale remedies. Characteristically, people Pursue What Is Great Through their own psycho-physical changes and mediocre gestures, but The ‘Radical’ Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam), Truly (and Really Effectively) Begins Only On The Basis Of The Disposition Of Doubt-Free Inherence In That Which Is Always Already The Case (or Reality Itself). That Disposition Is Established From The Beginning Of Your Practice Of The ‘Radical’ Way Of The Heart—Necessarily, On The Basis Of Devotional Recognition-Response To Me and The In-life Reality-‘Consideration’ Of My Divine Avataric Teaching-Argument.

To Rightly ‘Consider’ My Teaching-Argument Is Not To Accept Certain Propositions and Ideas Merely Because They Are Given To You By An Authority, but (Rather) To Observe Yourself Most Profoundly and Directly, and To Truly See What Gives Rise To The Presumed ‘Disease’ You Are Suffering, To Truly See The Mechanical Nature Of Your Own limited Presumptions, Your Own egoic Effort, Your Own Seeking-Strategy Of life. Having Come To The Point Of Understanding Your Mechanical and Always Seeking ego-Nature, Then You Are Able To Live (moment to moment) On The Basis Of Directly Transcending Your Presumed ‘Disease’, You Are Able To Live (moment to moment) On The Basis Of The Tacit Self-Apprehension Of The As-Me Self-Revealed Self-Nature, Self-Condition, and Self-State Of Reality Itself—Which Is Always Prior Happiness, and Consciousness Intrinsically Free Of egoic limitation. This Unique (and Intrinsically Searchless) Prior-Reality-Principle Underlies All Right and True Practice Of The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given ‘Radical’ Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam)—and ‘It’ Distinguishes The Totality Of The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given ‘Radical’ Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam) From All Six Stages Of The ‘Great Path Of Return’.”

Adi Da goes on to Say:

Your Suffering Is Not Happening To You. Your Suffering Is Your Own Activity.

Therefore, To Enter Into The Disposition Of Inhering In (and, Ultimately, Self-Abiding As) Reality Itself Is ‘Its Own Reward’. Even In The Midst Of The Always Prior Reality-Disposition, You Are Apparently Associated With the Mechanical body-mind and its Field Of relations, its Habits, its Patterning, The Accumulation Of The Effects Of Activity and Reaction.

Therefore, Even In The (Eventual) Midst Of A By-Me-Transcendentally-Spiritually-Awakened Life, My Devotee Will Find That the body-mind Continues To Pass Through various changes—some of which Are Pleasurable, and some of which Are Not Pleasurable. Over time, The Real Practice Of ego-Transcending Devotional (and, In Due Course, Transcendental Spiritual) Relationship To Me Will Demonstrate Itself As life-changes that, In Summary, Are Positively Transformative, Because the psycho-physical personality Will (Over time) Go Through A Process Of Gradual Purification and Release.

Nevertheless, Reality Itself Does Not Come Any ‘Closer’ As A Result Of psycho-physical Purification and Release. No Matter what psycho-physical changes Occur, Such changes Are, In The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given ‘Radical’ Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam), Always Only Secondary Evidence, or A Demonstration That the living individual Is Priorly and Consciously Founded In its own egoless Divine Reality-Principle. That egoless Divine Reality-Principle Is The Perfect Self-Identity Of all-and-All, To Be ‘Meditated Upon’ By all-and-All, No Matter what arises (or Does Not arise). Therefore, That By-Me and As-Me Self-Revealed Divine and egoless Reality-Principle—Rather Than Any Search or Attainment Relative To psycho-physical changes—Is The Context and Great Event Of The Only-By-Me Revealed and Given ‘Radical’ Way Of The Heart (or Way Of Adidam).”  ~Da Love-Ananda Mahal
