SACRED HISTORY for August 29th
1982 Adi Da Samraj Gathers with devotees and “Considers” what real meditation requires and Realizes.
His Divine Presence Parama-Sapta-Na Adi Da Says:
“Real meditation is death. If you enter into it most profoundly, you must let what you fear happen. You must be willing to move into the shuddering that you know represents the last moment of life and the loss of consciousness in this particular form. Ultimately, you must be able to let meditation be that profound.
Individuals within the Great Tradition of humankind have, therefore, often stated that Spiritual life is a matter of dying daily, dying constantly, going to death deliberately, sacrificing yourself to the absolute degree, to the point of death, in every moment—dying to the past, dying to the future, dying to the present.
What do they mean by all of that? They are not nihilists, but they are talking about a transformation of existence of which one becomes capable only in the voluntary act of surrender. You are not capable of it otherwise, by tendency. You want to hold on and continue as you seem to be, because presently you are continuing. But, in meditation, you must go beyond the motives of fear. When you have thoroughly gone beyond that fear, that is Samadhi. There is no restriction on meditation. Then there is only That Which meditation Realizes. There is no meditative act anymore. And there is no birth. What seems to be born is observed. There is no further identification with it in any ultimate sense.” ~Da Love-Ananda Mahal
