SACRED HISTORY for November 30th
1973 Introduction to the Life and Practices of the Dawn Horse Communion published
1996 Adi Da Samraj Gathers with devotees and “Considers” the profound commitment required to go beyond the gross patterning of one’s waking life (later published as a Discourse in Drifted in the Deeper Land ).
His Divine Presence Parama-Sapta-Na Adi Da Says:
“There are so many difficulties involved in ‘experience’. And so much is required to make it possible for there even to be any ‘experience’. It makes you wonder: Why is ‘experience’ not a lot better? Why should ‘experience’ be the way it is? And what is the point of it? What is there to be understood about it?
This is something to be ‘considered’ seriously while you are alive, rather than just ‘going with the flow’. Such investigation of the nature of your ‘experience’ is not a matter of being ‘self’-involved. Fundamentally, it is a matter of going beyond your apparently separate ‘self’ in order to Realize the Truth about Reality, in order to Realize What Is (whatever that turns out to be). It is not merely some kind of question about the gross mechanics of conditional existence, some kind of ‘how does it all work’ question—not merely ‘why or how to connect this to that to the other thing, plug it in, and the lights turn on’ kind of stuff. It is a more profound matter. You must, while alive, find out fundamentally what this is all about.
Ultimately, you must find the Source-Condition of all this—everything that you are ‘experiencing’, everything that seems to be happening to you. Otherwise, you are just caught up in a pattern, you are allowing your life to be dictated by a pattern. And there is not a lot of good news to say about organisms of your type in the pattern of things. Have you not noticed?”
Adi Da then Says:
“That means you have to commit yourself to doing what you have to do to Realize what is better than sheer gross patterning. That is the Pleasure Dome of this accommodation of the sacred in your personal and collective life in day to day terms—not digressing from the fundamentals of it. It is always there, every day. That is what it is to be serious, and this is how you enter into the consistent ‘experiencing’, Realizing, of That Which is Sufficient Inherently, That Which is Profound. If your only association with it is some sort of emotionalism based on some words you use to stimulate that emotionalism, there is no depth to it.
You have to live the Way in depth, through the practices that are depthful, more and more. There is always beyond. Just like the non-humans, you must set aside time every day for this contemplation, this entering into depth. In the Way I Give to you, I have accounted for all the aspects of it, all the Secrets of it, and the Great Means That I Am, for the sake of your Realization.
You will not be satisfied on any day in the waking condition if you do not enter into the sphere of profundity, beyond superficiality and fear, and touch the Depth more and more, the Prior Condition.” ~The Mountain Of Attention Sanctuary
