1980  The Four Fundamental Questions, first edition published

1997 Adi Da Samraj Gathers with devotees and “Considers” the essence of un-Enlightenment.

His Divine Presence, Parama-Sapta-Na Adi Da Samraj, Says:

The essence of un-Enlightenment is concern for ‘self’—for its survival, well-being, pleasure, amusement, perpetuation, and so on. Enlightenment is not merely the transcending of ‘self’ or the concern for ‘self’. It is a matter of the Realization of Reality Itself, Which Is Always Already The Case. It is Inherently, in other words, without ‘self’ and without a concern for ‘self’.

Enlightenment is simply a matter of Realization of Reality Itself, or What Is Always Already The Case. Enlightenment is without ‘self’. What is arising is pattern patterning. It is merely klik-klak, flux of changes, without ‘self’, and without a concern for ‘self’.”

Adi Da goes on to Say:

The profound nature of existence must be entered into profoundly, and that is the right purpose in (or the right patterning of) a human life. You take care of the practical business, fine–but that is not the purpose of existence. Concern for ‘self’ is the stressful ‘problem’—in other words, ‘self’-contraction—and it does not make any difference how you diddle it. The first six stages of life are variations on diddling it from one or another different psycho-physical position. It still does not amount to Most Perfect Divine Self-Realization. There Is Most Perfect Divine Self-Realization, but not in the context of the first six stages of life—only in the only-by-Me Revealed and Given seventh stage of life.

But you all—you elemental dumplings—are part of a fold, folding and unfolding and refolding again, a pattern patterning that will just (so to speak) ‘go on’ without end, since it is beginningless and endless, a self-changing, replicating-and-not-replicating machine of possibilities. You are so confused with it that your potential for ‘lifetimes’ (so-called) is literally without limit.

You are capable of endless modes of ‘self’-concerned existence, or births—all of which, of course (because they are a circumstance of changes), end in separation, loss, and death. Separation, loss, and death are what is going on here. I have noticed this. It is important to deal with that and go beyond it—profoundly important. It must be important to you. If it is not, you are in the ‘wheel of changes’. And your ‘emperor’s new clothes’ of ‘self’-concerned existence, the ‘Narcissus’ pose, or the beachy water there glaring at itself, mind to mind, will continue to appear. And its every appearance will be characterized by being concerned about your own continued existence and your own pleasurized existence.

You are always struggling with the potential of non-continuation and non-enjoyment. Have you not noticed this? You are always struggling to enjoy and to continue—do you not know this? Well, to continue (or to Be) and to enjoy (or to Realize) Inherent Love-Bliss, Happiness Itself, is your real and deep Intention. Therefore, Realize It and Be Free.”  ~The Mountain Of Attention Sanctuary
