SACRED HISTORY for April 27th

1987    Adi Samraj Gathers with devotees and “Considers” the necessary failure of one’s search as the foundation for beginning real ‘religious’ or Spiritual life.

His Divine Presence Parama-Sapta-Na Adi Da Says:

“You cannot really be involved in a process of transcending egoity, ultimate, if your search has not failed for you. It must have failed for you. It must no longer be a real option. You must have observed yourself, understood yourself sufficiently, to have learned the Lesson of Life, as I Call it.

In some very basic sense, you must have learned that. The search is not going to disappear because you get some notion that it is not a good idea, or not a good thing to be doing, and develop some sort of idealistic motive to get rid of it. That is not how the search disappears.

The search disappears in the failure of it. And it fails when you observe it. It does not merely fail by the exercise of it. Because one form of your pattern of seeking can fail, or be frustrated in some events of life, but then some other form of the search will take over.

So, seeking itself must fail. The search itself must fail, and the search will not fail by exhausting itself, merely, because it will not exhaust itself. New forms will take over. The search is a failure, inherently.

Therefore, it fails for you only in your real observation and understanding of it, as something that is inherently failing—something that cannot succeed, because it is based on a false principle, and only reinforces that false principle that is itself failure, that is ego-possession, that is a lie, that is suffering inherently, that is an illusion, that is, itself, insecurity. So, the search fails in the observation of it, not merely in the enacting of it. And it fails in its observation when you understand it thoroughly—not merely when you look at it. But, observing it, of course, is the first step. And you are brought to the observation of it by ‘considering’ the Arguments of the Adept-Realizer.

So, this ego-based search that I call conventional ‘religiosity’ must have failed for you in your ‘consideration’ of it, in your real observation of yourself in the context of the study of My Divine Avataric Teaching-Word. It is not enough to feel that your childhood ‘religious’ seeking failed, or is not justified. Because the principle of childhood ‘religiosity’ is likely still persisting in some other form, perhaps in the form of some falsely inspired, or idealistically inspired, involvement in the Way I have Given you.

So, when you come to the Reality-Way of Adidam, you must confront yourself with My Arguments, My ‘Consideration’, fully. You are stopped right at the door. You are not welcomed to the ‘paradise of religious consolation’ in the gathering of My devotees, or in My Divine Avataric Company. You are welcomed to the Reality-Way of Adidam, As It Is. Therefore, you must ‘consider’ My Arguments.”  ~Adi Da Samrajashram
