SACRED HISTORY for May 19th

1986   Adi Da Samraj Reads His sacred Text The Lion Sutra (then called Love-Ananda Gita) in Land Bridge Pavilion, Instructing devotees that His Divine Calling from the beginning of His Divine Avataric Revelation-Work has been to Realize Consciousness Itself directly, and to not be distracted by the “things” of conditionally manifested existence.  ~The Mountain Of Attention Sanctuary

1995  Adi Da Samraj Gathers with devotees and “Considers” the serious disposition and commitment to practice required in order to be Free.

His Divine Presence Parama-Sapta-Na Adi Da Says:

“The price for not Standing in the Witness-Position and entering into the Domain of Transcendental Spiritual and, Ultimately, Divine Existence is that you move from That Position into ‘self’-contraction and the whole field of attention. The Energy in the Ultimate Domain passes into the body-mind-complex to energize all of your difficulty.

However, as soon as there is this Stand Prior to the body-mind-complex, one of the things noticed in the Witness-Position is that much stress is gone—stress and reactive emotion, fundamental fear, and so on. But as soon as you pass from that Position into the ‘self’-contraction and the field of attention, the primal Energy energizes the contractions of the body-mind-complex, and then you are stuck with it.

So the fact that you do not, in this moment, Stand in that Ultimate Position means more than the fact that you are not Realized, or that you have not passed into the ‘Perfect Practice’. It means that you have settled for the consequences—the ‘self’-contraction—and are willing to have the Energy of the Ultimate Sphere energize your presumed ‘difficulty’. So, you ought to have more urgency about it. You cannot simply declare it to be so, and just take up the ‘Perfect Practice’, but you can transcend your mediocrity in practice, if you have whole bodily recognition-response to Me and real ‘self’-understanding.”

Adi Da then Says:

“The heart wants to be Free, the entire being wants to be Free. But if you think of Freedom as just having the liberal capability to indulge your desires, then you are not going to find Freedom. Freedom will not be the result of that exercise—that mere exercise, anyway.

If you are in touch with your impulse to be Free, then you must examine yourself and find out what you have to do exactly in order to be Free—what to do and what not to do.

If your commitment is to Freedom and you know what to do to be Free, then whatever you discipline—or give up, relinquish, discard, or ignore—should not ‘cause’ you any pain. Find this impulse to be Free, find out what you have to do to be Free, and just do it with a will, then, and do not be double-minded about it. Function by your best understanding, rather than putting it up for a vote to every thought you can come up with.

Right mind is not a democracy—it is a kingship, of a kind. A senior, one-pointed disposition—the best understanding—must rule.”  ~Adi Da Samrajashram
