“Nobody ‘Knows’ What Is Happening”

1982 Adi Da Samraj Gathers with devotees and Speaks about Divine Ignorance.

His Divine Presence Parama-Sapta-Na Adi Da Says:

“Where the hell are you? Where did you come from? Where are you going? What is going on? Really! You did not receive an instruction book from God at birth, did you? You are trying to find out what is going on. You cannot account for your appearance here, can you? You do not ‘know’ what is happening. You did not create it, and you do not ‘know’ what is going on. Who ‘knows’ what you are? You do not ‘know’ why you are what you are. That is it! That is it! IT! The fact that you do not ‘know’. You do not ‘know’, do you? You are trying to make your arrangements even though you do not have the slightest idea what is going on. You do not ‘know’. You have not even the remotest idea! That is it. I do not ‘know’, either. Nobody ever ‘knew’. Nobody ‘knows’ now. Nobody will ever ‘know’. Let Me put it precisely: Nobody ‘knows’ what is happening. That is why I Call this Way the Way of Divine Ignorance.

The Adepts are those who have realized that they do not ‘know’, nobody ever ‘knew’, nobody ‘knows’ now, and nobody will ever ‘know’. Nobody can ‘know’. This is the basis of Adeptship—Ignorance! Ignorance is all there is. And in Ignorance, there is sublime Wisdom. I have ‘Experienced’ everything, I have Done everything, I have Been everywhere, and I do not ‘know’ anything. I ‘know’ less than you ‘know’. I Confess this to you. I do not ‘know’ anything. I have been through it all. You have not yet been through it all. But I have, and having been through it all, I am Telling you I do not ‘know’ what is happening. All I can Tell you is when you stop ‘knowing’ things, you are Happy.”

Adi Da goes on to Say:

“I do not ‘know’ what is happening, I really do not. Not at all! At all! There is just this incredibly profound, mind-blowing, ego-destroying, humbling Mystery. That is it. That is the whole ball of wax. That is the brain-shaker. That is it. This is My Confession to you.

I am not in a superior position to you. I am nowhere. I have completely accepted it. I have completely accepted that I cannot ‘know’, I have never ‘known’, nor has anybody ‘known’. I do not ‘know’ now, nor will I ‘know’ in the future. This is My Realization. This Realization has Awakened in Me the Divine Capability to Transmit My Transcendental Spiritual Current. This Realization has Awakened in Me the Divine Capability to Bless beings, allowed Me to Awaken them. This Realization has Invested Me with Powers of an extraordinary kind.

So being Ignorant is not exactly like being stupid. Being stupid is a matter of thinking that you ‘know’ what is happening. I am not stupid—I Am Ignorant. As soon as I became Ignorant, I started Becoming the Divine World-Teacher. That Which Works through Me, I Call ‘Real God’. But I do not ‘know’ What It Is! I really do not ‘know’ What It Is, but I Call It ‘Da’.” ~Da Love-Ananda Mahal
