My Devotees Must Never Make a “cult” Out Of My“ remembered” Self

1987 Adi Da Samraj Gathers with devotees and “Considers” the difference between an idolatrous or “cultic” attachment to Him and the devotional relationship He Offers devotees.

His Divine Presence Parama-Sapta-Na Adi Da Says:

“‘Radical’ devotion to Me is not a form of idolatry. It is not ‘you’ over against ‘Me’. ‘Radical’ devotion to Me is a structure of Divine Communion. It is a structure of the transcending of egoity. It is a condition of Ecstasy. It is a Transcendental Spiritual Event, or Process.

Cultism is, among other things, idolatry. It is something egos do. It is something non-practitioners do. Cultic attachment to Me is idolatrous—if you will, uninformed. People who have not Heard My Divine Avataric Teaching-Word may tend to become idolatrous in relation to Me. And, of course, I have been Criticizing people for doing just that for a long time, since I began My Divine Avataric Teaching-Work, in fact.

I am not Calling you to a conventional or idolatrous or ego-based relationship with Me. I am Calling you to the Transcendental Spiritual Process that takes place in the context of right relationship with Me, wherein you may Realize devotional Communion with the Divine Self-Nature, Self-Condition, and Self-State of Reality Itself, devotional Communion with My Samadhi. Until your relationship to Me becomes that for real, there may be all kinds of things you find inspiring or useful or amusing about My Divine Avataric Company.

There are all kinds of things that you may like about Me as a ‘personality’. You may even like Me without being particularly idolatrous. But what I specifically mean by ‘radical’ devotion to Me is this great Gift of devotional Communion with Me, Given directly through My Transcendental Spiritual Self-Transmission. This is what I Call My devotees to Realize.” ~Adi Da Samrajashram
